Tekla announces BIM software solution for construction management

The Tekla Structures for Construction Management concept will be announced at this year's Big 5 Exhibition held in Dubai, UAE, from 25th to 29th November.

Upcoming for launch in 2008, Tekla Structures for Construction Management is a platform of information-model-based solutions that supports contractors, sub-contractors, and project management professionals by centralizing project data into a visual 3 and 4-dimensional context.

Schedule and cost control can be realized by an effective and informed communication and decision-making process that results from managing the fragmented nature of both project planning and performance data.

"The Tekla model can be used to model the whole process from project planning to site management, i.e. to plan and schedule the structures, quantities and resources," says Mr. Tahir Sharif, Managing Director of Tekla Middle East. "Project managers can visualize the building in its as-built condition, locate the task in the building, and show their team the exact way to proceed."

"The Tekla Model is more than a 3D-Model. It's a rich database that carries information for constructing the project," adds Mr. Mohamed Hussein, Software Specialist at Tekla ME. "Tekla's new construction management tool helps visualize the project status throughout the different construction stages. This enhances the construction management process by enabling contractors, sub-contractors and project managers to have more control over their construction plans and helps them optimize the use of their resources," he points out.

Mr. Sharif and Mr. Hussein, will be present at the Big 5 Exhibition in Dubai on 28th November to demonstrate the concept and answer further questions at Novotel Hotel.
