Suzuki Saudia has unveiled the new XL7 model in response to strong market demand as the number of clients looking for high-performance 4x4 and SUV vehicles has increased substantially.

'As the sole dealer of Suzuki vehicles in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we have launched the XL7 2008 to help us address the increasing consumer demand for the Suzuki brand and increase our share in the Saudi automotive market. This is also part of our efforts to enhance our partnership with Suzuki, and in line with our mission to constantly provide the Saudi market with high-quality products and services,' said Maher Al Nabawy, Deputy General Manager of Suzuki Saudia.

Commenting on the new features of the XL7 2008, Ahmed Shamaile, Sales Manager of Suzuki Saudia, said: 'The new XL7 combines comfortable design and enhanced performance. We have developed the new XL7 to match the requirements of the Saudi market, boosting the new model's appeal through its innovative design, spaciousness and outstanding performance on any road surface.'

The XL7 2008 is characterized by its more spacious design, which can comfortably accommodate up to seven passengers, and enhanced power with its GM (General Motors)-designed, Suzuki-built 3.6-litre, V6 DOHC engine, which can deliver an estimated 188kW/6,400rpm and 330 Nm/2,300rpm of torque. Although the new engine is nearly one liter larger than the 2.7-litre engine used in the previous XL7 edition, the larger XL7 2008 has been designed to deliver optimized fuel economy due to the (VVT) technology. The engine is matched with a five-speed automatic transmission with a manual-shifting (manumatic) mode.

The Suzuki XL7 crossover SUV is an all-wheel-drive vehicle with a four-wheel independent suspension. It is based on a sophisticated platform with full-length underbody rails for added strength. Other features include front airbags and side-curtain airbags for driver and passenger, a four-wheel anti-lock brake system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) including traction control, and a standard tire-pressure monitoring system that continuously monitors critical tire pressures.

Aside from being manufactured by a world-class Japanese firm, the XL7 model has gained tremendous popularity in Saudi because of its exceptional strength, attractive design and safety features. With the new XL7 2008, Suzuki has further expanded its market coverage with features that suit Saudi families.

'Suzuki Saudia has maintained a leading image in Saudi by leveraging high-quality Japanese technology with our thorough understanding of the local automotive market. Renowned for its safety features and durability, Suzuki has actually outperformed other brands in Saudi Arabia and has maintained its competitiveness across all market segments,' Al Shamaile concluded.
