- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, November 27 - 2007 at 15:20
- PRESS RELEASE
Latest advancements in technology for the oil and gas sector will be explored at this year's Oil and Gas Show (OGS 2007), the Arab world's premier event for petroleum industry professionals, investors, and equipment and technology providers.
The show will focus on new technologies, software and machinery, covering the entire range of activities in the oil and gas industry; from production to maintenance, as well as environmentally-friendly drilling procedures and health, safety and rescue issues.
According to Anselm Godinho, Managing Director of IC&E, the organisers of OGS "As one of the largest buyers of high-end technology and equipment for use in its vast energy production hotspots, the Middle East has always attracted high profile international manufacturers and suppliers. For 13 successful shows, OGS has flourished by serving as a platform for the launch of key technologies which have made significant contributions to maintaining the competitive edge of the region's oil producers."
This year's show has already attracted a record number of 350 exhibitors from more than 30 countries including the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, China, Korea, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Confirmed international exhibitors include Hillman Rollers, ION Science Ltd, Nirotec Italia and Lukoil among others.
URACA Pumps will be showcasing its latest solutions in treatment of oil deposits and refineries contaminated with sulphur and heavy metals, using gasification, a technique that is gaining more and more importance.
Another exhibitor, Zener Fire Division - specialists in fire fighting systems - is bringing a wide array of solutions to fire protection needs for power plants, sub-stations, desalination plants, oil & gas industries, high rise buildings, shopping malls, airports and district cooling plants to the show.
OGS also features the Arab Instrumentation & Automation (AIA) Show, a comprehensive display of technology for instrumentation, control, automation and laboratory professionals. AIA will enable suppliers to meet, demonstrate and sell to a diverse selection of industry buyers from all over the Middle East, the Mediterranean and the Sub-continent.
Godinho added "The Instrumentation & Automation segment of the show has extended the reach of the event beyond the energy sector to include manufacturing, communication, construction, laboratory & testing, environment and process control sectors. Like the previous editions of OGS, this year too we have witnessed an overwhelming response, with participation from several leading companies across the world."
Roesberg Engineering GmbH confirmed it will be showcasing its latest PRODOK instrumentation & control engineering software. PRODOK is used by engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies as well as plant operators in handling day-to-day work in instrumentation and control engineering. The software benefits more than 5,000 users worldwide including BASF, MiRO (Germany's largest refinery), BP, Indian Oil Corp and BHEL.
OGS 2007 aims to encourage discussion on a diversity of issues by holding a series of expert speaker sessions and seminars on various topics relevant to contemporary energy sector practices. The show will be open to trade visitors from 10am to 7pm on all three days of the show (December 4 - 6), at Dubai International Exhibition Center.
