An ex-Gulf Air employee, Al Marzooqi comes back from Air Arabia where he spent the last 10 years as its Station Maintenance Manager and lately, as the Chief Engineer. "As Bahrain's national carrier, we are glad to welcome Jassim to Gulf Air to lead the airline's technical and engineering department. It's part of our strategy to bring in more qualified and experienced Bahrainis in senior management positions to take their flag carrier to the level of becoming the airline of choice," says Acting President and Chief Executive Björn Näf.

"His vast knowledge and extensive hands-on experience in a wide range of modern aircraft in many areas including line and heavy maintenance, inspection, engineering, defect rectification, etc., will be great asset to us and we hope to draw upon these capabilities to maintain the best standards for our fleet."

A member and a licensed aircraft engineer with UK Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Al Marzooqi also has an MBA from the University of Glamorgan, UK.

"It's always a proud feeling to work for your national carrier and it's even more honourable to work for Gulf Air which is a pioneer for aviation in the region," says Mr. Al Marzooqi. "With the new leadership and forward-looking plan, Gulf Air will be the ideal platform for me to combine and contribute my knowledge, skills and experience to make it an airline of choice."
