The converged deployment will see the 3300 ICP installed at the Ministry's headquarters in the historical capital of Sana'a. The deployment, which will cater for the 500 users at the Ministry, will include the award winning Mitel 5340 IP phones. In order to maximize their previous investment, the ministry will also use the capabilities of the 3300 ICP to terminate the Ministry's existing base of analog telephones.
The converged project is to be implemented by Asharq for Trade & Agencies (ATA), a Mitel Gold Solution Provider in Sana'a, Yemen.
'The process of selecting an IP communications system can only be made after carefully assessing solutions that best satisfy the desired aims and objectives of individual ministries. Accordingly when it came to replacing the previous system at the Ministry of Justice, we spent quality time selecting the most efficient platform for our needs,' said Eng. Amin Al-Junide, IT Advisor, Project Management, Yemen Ministry of Justice.
'We finally chose Mitel due their ability to deliver to our high specifications and the compatibility of their portfolio with industry standards.'
'In Yemen there is a great willingness to adopt and move forward, but often a key concern of decision-makers is how to protect existing investments,' said Adel Othman, Deputy General Manager, Asharq for Trade & Agencies (ATA).
'With the Mitel converged IP solution, we are able to ensure that all legacy TDM equipment continues to function as normal while we install the new IP communications solution at the pace dictated by the customer. This is a classic example of forward thinking investment protection.'
'We are delighted to see a country like Yemen embrace the benefits of IP communications and their recognition that the investment in IP technology needs to be encouraged at a strategic and national level,' said Hisham Amili, Mitel GM, GCC.
'This is exemplified by the implementation at the Ministry of Justice and winning the project with our Gold Partner ATA underlines Mitel's market leading position in the Yemen communications market.'
