Essa Al Haddad, Chief Marketing Officer, Etisalat, said:
"We take this opportunity to extend our greetings and wishes to the leaders of the UAE, and to each and every citizen and resident of our nation. We are very happy to enable our customers to reach out during the National Day holidays, and enjoy both national and international calls at offpeak rates on 2nd December 2007."
Etisalat mobile customers have a brand new way of celebrating national day, with the Weyak photography competition open to all MMS users. All Etisalat customers can take pictures of what they feel best represents the culture and heritage of the UAE, and send these pictures as MMS to 10021. All pictures received will be posted on Etisalat's web and mobile portal, Weyak, and the submissions will be rated by visitors to the website. Winners with the highest rating will receive the latest Apple iPod Nano.
Through this contest, Weyak will build a library of images that represent the UAE as seen by its citizens and residents, and will add an exciting new section to the Weyak portal. The customer who sends in the highest number of entries to this contest will also win a prize. This contest is now open and the deadline for submissions is 12th December 2007. Visit Weyak at www.weyak.ae from a PC or mobile.weyak.ae from a mobile phone.
Etisalat has also thrown open its wireless Internet Hotspots to everyone in the UAE free of charge, to enable people to stay in touch even when on the move during the National Day holiday.
