Dubai First to sponsor 'People's Choice Award' at Dubai International Film Festival

The Dubai International Film Festival audience will choose their favourite feature, documentary and short films. Ballots for the 'Dubai First People's Choice Award' will be distributed to members of the audience upon their arrival at the cinemas. At the end of each screening, viewers will deposit their ballot slips into boxes outside the screening venue.

Abdulhamid Juma, Chairman of DIFF, said: "The Dubai International Film Festival is honoured to have Dubai First on board as one of the presenting sponsors. The Dubai First People's Choice Award will give our audience a voice and allow them to express their love of cinema in an immediate and participatory way. We thank Dubai First for their support in this initiative."

The Dubai First People's Choice Award winners will be revealed during a gala award presentation ceremony on December 15, 2007.

Dubai First is on track to achieve its vision to be among the top five consumer finance players in the UAE within the next three years. Increasing its involvement with local events, Dubai First seeks to affiliate itself with activities that complement Dubai's aim for excellence.

The Dubai International Film Festival will run from 9-16 December, 2007.
