The yearly conference brings its channel partners together to update them on latest innovations and to launching of new partner programs in the region, which continues until December 13th with stops in Jordan, Lebanon, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco.

Starting in Cairo, the Intel Channel Conferences (ICC), themed under the title of Dual & Quad Core processors and the next Intel Chipset generation, the launch event had 120 integrators and resellers, whom were shown live demonstrations and information that can be implemented simply and directly for their customers. The conference further focused on customers learning more about their options and opportunities for expanding their range of services using vPro processor technologies and the Intel Virtualisation technology.

'The ICC is an opportunity to educate our expanding customer base in the region on the latest technologies and our shift to Quad Core & Dual Core processors across our entire products stack: through desktop, server and mobile,'

said Mohammed Amer, Reseller Channel Manager for Egypt, Levant & North Africa.

On the occasion of Intel's efforts to further enhance its channel customers, ETE was one of the pioneering channel companies to implement Intel Core2Quad in their line of Envision desktop PCs. A case study was conducted with two production and post-production houses on ETE Envision desktops based on Intel Core2Quad technology to see how it compared with their regular processor's power. Both houses felt that if time and energy could be saved with a more powerful processor, it could be greatly beneficial to them.

After testing of the ETE Envision desktop PC based on Intel Core2Quad processor technology, the post-production houses reached a conclusion that investing in computers such as ETE desktops based on Intel Core2 Quad processor technology, is indeed the path to competitive performance. 'In the field of production and post-production, computers struggle a lot to keep up with the heavy load that is on them throughout the editing process. Many times this slows work down,' says Khaled Nasr, Vice President of ETE. 'By investing in desktops based on Intel® Core2 Quad technology, you are not only investing in merely a desktop, but you are also investing in your business' future. These powerful machines allow you to save time, getting more done, with the same cost.'

Overall test results showed that the Intel Core2 Quad processor proved to be 79% faster in 3D Graphics Rendering and 54% in Video Creation in comparison to previously used processors. Testers from both post-production houses, namely FX and CMC, stated that it also saved energy (decreasing heat), and that they would recommend that businesses invest in Core2 Quad processors. Both houses mentioned that they never realized they could have better functioning computers until they tested Intel Core2 Quad based PCs.
