Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite selected as Saudi Telecom - ALJAWAL's mobility platform

ALJAWAL has already launched the hosted wireless email service, branded as 'My Em@il'.

The Saudi Arabian mobile operator ALJAWAL is a subsidiary of the national telecom operator Saudi Telecom. ALJAWAL is serving more than 16 million customers via 2G/3.5G mobile network that covers 98 percent of the urban areas including all highways and country roads within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. According to Communications and Information technology Commission (CITC) (*) in the Kingdom, 4.8m users had access to the Internet at the end of 2006 representing some 20% of the population. While the mobile penetration rate, according to Arab Advisers Group, lies between 60% and 70%, the importance to deliver wireless access to email is evident.
