Western Union waives fees for money transfers to Bangladesh following natural disaster

Western Union, the leading provider of global money transfer services, lent a much-needed helping hand to Bangladesh by announcing that they will waive their transfer fee to the cyclone-hit nation for the month of December.

From the 1st to the 31st of December, money transfer fees will be Dhs0*, and it is applicable to any amounts transferred to Bangladesh from the United Arab Emirates, hence, providing the thousands of Bangladeshi expatriates living in the UAE a chance to help their loved ones back home at no additional cost.

Speaking on the development, Mr. Jean Claude Farah, Western Union Regional Vice President for Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan said, "We would like to express our deepest sadness and sympathy to all our valued customers who have family and loved ones affected by the recent tragic events. Waiving our transfer fee in order to lessen the financial burden on our Bangladeshi customers in this time of need is the least we can do to help them out."
