ADTA hosts Tourism Awareness Day

Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), the apex body that manages Abu Dhabi's tourism sector, organized a Tourism Awareness Day that was attended by more than 400 students from the Abu Dhabi Vocational Training Institute.

Representatives of ADTA, other government organizations and the private sector working on various aspects of the tourism and hospitality sector addressed the gathering and gave a detailed overview and insight into the importance of tourism to the emirate's economy. They also presented the various facets of the tourism sector and the achievements made by Abu Dhabi in attracting tourists from all over the world.

The instructors of the Tourism Awareness Day were from ADTA qualified and specialized calibers; Mohamed Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Quality & Performance Management Manager; Faisal Al Sheikh Head of tourism operation section; and Michelle Sabti head of tourism training.

The objective of hosting the Tourism Awareness Day was to showcase the opportunities in the tourism sector to the students and encourage them to pursue rewarding careers in the sector. Various educational courses available in tourism were also presented to the students to help them make an informed choice

The event reiterates the commitment of ADTA to popularize tourism in Abu Dhabi and also encourage the participation of more youngsters in the sector, which is one of the fastest growing in the world. Abu Dhabi, especially, has tremendous potential in tourism, which can be fully capitalized only with the greater awareness on its importance.

ADTA will conduct similar programmes on a regular basis tailor-made for various sections of the society to further strengthen Abu Dhabi's tourism sector.
