Two cruise ships bring 1455 tourists to Dubai

Dubai welcomed two cruise ships - Silver Whisper and Deutschland - at its state-of-the-art cruise terminal with a total of 1455 passengers and crew members from various nationalities on board the luxury vessels from the US and German cruiseliners.

The US cruiseliner, Silver Whisper, arrived in Dubai from the Muscat in Sultanate of Oman for a two day tour and had tourists and crew members from various nationalities including US, UK, Australia, Germany and Norway.

The ship left for Khassab in Oman on December 2.

The German vessel, Deutschland, also came to Dubai from Muscat on December 3 enroute to Khassab.

The ship-shaped cruise terminal, opened in 2001, measures 3300 square metres and is able to accommodate two ships simultaneously on a 335-metre quay The Dubai Cruise Terminal is the world's first to receive ISO-9002 certification and also the world's only cruise facility run by the government tourism body.
