RTA signs an agreement with Emirates Bank International to collect parking penalty charges

Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) signed an agreement with Emirates Bank International under which payments could be made for parking fees offences through ATMs, internet banking and telephone banking services.
"According to the agreement, penalty charges of RTA public parking offences could be collected in conjunction with Emirates Bank International. The agreement marks efforts made by the RTA to provide multiple channels for serving the public through providing several options including parking offence inquiry. Accordingly, parking penalty charges could be paid through banking channels that save effort & time. Customers will be able to make payments through ATM & CDM as well as internet banking by logging to the website of Emirates Bank customers. Emirates Bank customers can also make payment through telephone banking service, including the mobile phone" said Maitha.
She pointed out that such service is well received by the public, as it is readily accessible, thanks to the widespread ATMs in the UAE. In fact there are more than 500 ATMs that render payment process smooth & express. The number of service users is steadily increasing since activating the service in early November of this year, she noted.
"Through this service and other services targeting customers and community at large, RTA is mobilizing its efforts & resources to provide highly sophisticated services to the largest possible bracket of customers to enable them process their requests in a timely and smooth manner. Making such achievements is attributed to the cooperation between the RTA & its strategic partners, concerted efforts, and application of all technological & technical inputs. RTA can therefore get rid of the routine, save time & effort, and process transactions in a prompt & dynamic fashion" engineer Maitha commented" added Maitha.
She concluded her remarks by saying that this agreement is valid for two years from the date of signing, and is automatically renewable for one further year. The bank is providing this service through ATM, CDM, internet banking, mobile phone banking service, phone banking transactions.
