Speaking at a press conference today at the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club (ADIMSC), Ahmed Bin Ali, the Vice President - Corporate Communications at Etisalat expressed gratitude that the Telco was part of the famous sport festival.

"We are proud to once again join hands with ADIMSC in presenting the Abu Dhabi Marine Sport Festival," he said.

"Apart from being a magnetic draw for residents of the city to watch the boats in action, the Powerboat Championship also firmly places Abu Dhabi on the international map for major marine world championships. Our support of this Festival stems from our commitment to not only connect the UAE to the world, but to also bring to the people of the UAE the best that the world has to offer."

He said the sponsorship was aligned with the Etisalat strategy of getting closer to its customers through events and initiatives that matter to them.

"Alongside raising the UAE's profile worldwide through a number of significant achievements nationally and internationally, our commitment and endeavours towards ensuring effective social responsibility has seen us working alongside the UAE community on a number of different activities and platforms, and it is especially our work with the youth and the not-for-profit organizations that sets us apart", he added.

Bin Ali said that as the leading national corporation, it is Etisalat's duty to contribute towards not only the growth and development of the citizens and residents of the UAE, but also contribute to and mirror the growth and development of the nation itself. We have ingrained a number of characteristics portrayed by the UAE, and this is what has enabled us to grow and stand among the leading telecom Corporations in the world."

Etisalat's list of sponsored and supported activities covers initiatives in many areas including sport & recreational events, educational conferences and outreach programmes, training and personnel development among others.

As the leading national telecom operator, Etisalat believes that its fulfillment of its responsibility to the community within which it operates is what led to its being recognized last year by Arabian Business magazine for its exceptional contribution to the activities and initiatives of the UAE community.
