The award recognizes the innovative VPCC (Virtual PC Center) virtualized PC solutions incorporating IP telephony deployed at the Cannes Film Festival, incorporating more than 50 terminals into the IT infrastructure and the press room.

"The Perfect Project Award for the Most Innovative Solution is presented to the project that received the highest number of votes from the participating CIOs and IT Managers from across the Middle East. Their votes were cast based on the level of innovation shown by the project nominated in this category," said Farouk Hemraj, co-founder, DISTREE Events. "NEC's project was one of five projects nominated in this category and was recognized as a clear winner with 68% of the votes."

"The fact that NEC won with 68% of the votes is the perfect example that the Middle East is willing to invest in state of the art technology solutions," said Johan Degroote, regional director for NEC Computers. "IT managers in the region are looking more and more into centrally manageable solutions where the total cost of ownership of the IT infrastructure is crucial including security and business continuity."
