The hunt is now on for contestants to appear in the show, which is being funded by Hydra Properties, a leading Abu Dhabi-based international real estate company, in co operation with Showtime Arabia and Infinity TV. The producers are looking for people with a myriad of skills and interests but are united in their entrepreneurial spirit and desire to launch and grow a business under the Hydra umbrella.
It will be filmed in Abu Dhabi and require contestants to participate in a 15-week competition, which will conclude with one winner getting up to $1,000,000 to set up their own real estate venture.
Over the course of the programme, the 16 participants - eight men and eight women from the UK and the US - will experience a two-week boot camp, during which they will immerse themselves in the world of real estate. After this, they will be split into two teams, competing against each other.
Setting them tasks will be Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim, CEO of Hydra Properties. He is the brains behind the show as well as its host, and is famous in the Middle East as one of the younger wave of successful entrepreneurs.
The aim of the programme is to not only to raise the profile of Hydra Properties and its chief executive, but also to promote Abu Dhabi and help build tourism to the destination.
Al Fahim said: "It's entertainment, but of a different kind. It's about the world of adventure, about doing something that hasn't been done before or doing something differently.
"The show will further emphasize Hydra's association with innovation and leadership in the UAE and the international real estate development arena. The show will aim to educate and entertain, while simultaneously tapping international entrepreneurial talent to start their real estate venture in the richest and fastest growing development market in the world, Abu Dhabi."
Marc-Antoine d'Halluin, CEO of Showtime Arabia: "This English-language reality show will be the first of its kind for the Middle East audience and also the first involving the real estate sector in the region.
"We are delighted to be part of this great endeavour that Hydra has chosen and feel that this is one of the most creative shows that we've seen."
