The artists are being hosted by SCB during their first-time visit and performance in the Kingdom, for "Seeing is Believing"—an initiative launched by SCB staff in 2003, marking the Bank's 150th anniversary. Since its launch, the "Seeing is Believing" campaign raised money for over one million sight restorations worldwide.

The Bahrain concert, which is being held under the patronage of Dr. A Hai Ali Al-Awadhi, Assistant Undersecretary, Bahrain Ministry of Health, will donate proceeds towards local operations and medical equipment; directly improving the lives of Bahrainis suffering from eyesight problems.

The concert will take place at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Hall 1, today (6 December, 2007). Doors open at 7:30PM, and the concert starts at 8:30PM, and will run for two hours without any intermissions. Last-minute ticket Sales will take place in the Foyer of Hall 1, in the BIEC, from 6:30pm onwards.

SCB also hosted a special VIP Dinner yesterday at the Gulf Hotel for their top customers, in honour of the invited guests.

SCB CEO, Martin Fish thanked the Bank's VIP customers, and the general public, for such a strong showing of support for the concert; and expressed his sincere appreciation to the ticket outlets that were generous enough to waive the usual percentage on ticket sales (Jawad Supermarket, Al Jazira Supermarket, Yateem Centre Mall, Euphoria Music Store, and Hava Java Music Store); as well as Dadabhai Travel for their ongoing support and generosity along with VOICE FM Radio (104.2FM), who aided the campaign by producing the radio announcements for the event, pro bono.

Mr. Fish remarked, "The dinner provided an optimal environment for our valued customers to interact with a phenomenal group of world-celebrated musicians. We cannot stress enough the value of the support we have received from clients and the artists alike in executing this ambitious initiative."

"We are very fortunate to have received such a positive response from all parties—and are especially privileged to be hosting such high-calibre, talented artists who each have such impressive and unique eminence in the international music industry," he concluded.

In alliance with the World Health Organization (WHO) and leading eye health care organizations, SCB has set a goal to raise $10m by World Sight Day, 2010, in order to fund medical, community and education projects to make a difference to the lives of 10m people across 20 countries.
