Al Arabiya video journalism workshop at Dubai Press Club

Dubai Press Club (DPC) is hosting Al Arabiya Video Journalism Training for two weeks from 4-18 December.

The training will offer creative approaches to producing television news stories and will draw from the experience of Fadel Abbas, Video Journalism Trainer, Al Arabiya News Channel. The training is also attended by twelve Al Arabiya journalists.

Maryam bin Fahad, Executive Director, Dubai Press Club, said: "Al Arabiya News Channel workshop is part of our commitment to providing comprehensive training opportunities for journalists. This also marks the beginning of a long-term partnership with the channel."

The training coincides with the beginning of a new style in television news reporting, in which one journalist will be able of handling the functions of a whole team, combining the roles of cameraman, assistant cameraman, technical editor, broadcast journalist and sound engineer into one.

The two week workshop will instruct participants on the general rules for the management of devices and equipment, camera use and processing, and the principles of sound and lighting, as well as how to transmit the news via the camera to the viewer.
