First Security Group and ARASCA sign agreement

ARASCA the authorized dealers of Phillips, a manufacturer of a recommended AED have appointed First Security Group Training and Development Business Unit as their preferred service provider in respect of training and accrediting their client's staff to operate their AEDs.

80% of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) casualties suffer from Ventricular Fibrillation (VF). Ventricular Fibrillation can be handled by means of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation - CPR or defibrillation. As heart disease is the major contributing factor in death in the developed world the use of specialized equipment to address the issue is increasing and the success rates are staggering.

With this in mind the Dubai Government has issued regulations (Administrative Instruction No. 1 for 2007) that hotels must be equipped with Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) and they must have their personnel trained to a minimum prescribed standard to operate the equipment in the event of a client/customer/staff member having a myocardial infarction. (Heart Attack).

According to the circular it is required for all hotels to have the legal requirements in place by September 2008.

In addition to fitting AED to their facilities a specified number of hotel staff must receive accredited training on the use of the equipment.

The First Security Group has developed a bespoke CPR -AED course to specifically meet the needs of the hotel industry. This course has been designed and developed by First Security Group and is accredited by the prestigious UK qualification awarding body Safety Training Awards and is currently under review by the Dubai Ambulance Centre for further accreditation.
