2007 Arab Oil and Gas Show receives sensational reviews from international participants

  • PRESS RELEASE

The 14th Arab Oil & Gas Show (OGS), the premier onshore and offshore oil, gas and petrochemicals exhibition, has received sensational reviews from its exhibitors and visitors, following a stirring showcase of energy-related products and technologies at the opening of the three day event.

The 14th OGS has already successfully facilitated several high-stakes deals across the energy industry value chain, while exhibitors expressed great satisfaction with the increased exposure offered by the exhibition; which has this year been expanded to include the critical hydrocarbons and pipelines sector.

"As the region's centrepiece event for the latest technologies and products critical to the booming energy industry, the Arab Oil & Gas Show has sustained its phenomenal success by continuously evolving according to emerging market trends," said Anselm Godinho, Managing Director, International Conferences and Exhibitions (IC&E), the organisers of OGS.

"OGS has been enhanced and expanded to help exhibitors optimise their potential, while providing a wider range of solutions to various trade buyer profiles. We are pleased to have received a rousing response from the participants, which has fuelled our enthusiasm to explore more innovative ideas to once again exceed expectations in future OGS editions,"

added Godinho.

A record field of more than 350 exhibitors from over 30 countries are participating in the exhibition, which was inaugurated by H.E. Dr. Mohammad Saeed Al Kindi, the UAE Minister of Environment and Water. The event provides a definitive forum for industry professionals to identify and discuss pressing issues pertinent to the energy sector in the region, which accounts for nearly 60 percent of the world's proven oil reserves.

"The OGS shows have been very well organised and exude a very relaxed atmosphere. More importantly, the show has consistently featured interesting exhibitors, which has helped me establish excellent contacts in the industry," said Mohammed Al-Hamadi, Managing Director, Hammadi Power Services, an exhibitor at OGS 2007.

As part of initiatives to transform OGS into a highly inclusive networking platform for all sectors of the energy industry, a full range of solutions for the exploration, extraction, refinement and transportation of hydrocarbon reserves were introduced this year. Moreover, the show also provided easy access to all materials and technologies required to implement and maintain pipelines, a key element towards harnessing the full potential of the region's vast oil and gas reserves.

In addition to the wide array of distinguished organisations participating in OGS 2007, professionals in the instrumentation, control, automation and laboratory sectors were also in attendance at the 3rd Arab Instrumentation and Automation (AIA) exhibition, which was held concurrently with OGS. AIA highlighted standards of excellence in instrumentation, control and automation technologies related to the energy, engineering, construction, manufacturing and communications industries.

"The AIA segment fits exactly into our product offerings and has also been an excellent marketing platform for our partner/sister companies. It has also been very informative and greatly useful for all market players. I believe this is a high-growth area of the show as it covers critical sectors that provide critical support to energy industry," concluded David Wang, General Manager of Massbetter Exhibition and Conference.
