Drydocks World Chief Executive Officer Mr. Geoff Taylor was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award.
The awards were presented at a high-profile ceremony at the Taj Palace Hotel in Mumbai recently.
The honours come at a time when Drydocks World is bearing the stamp for Dubai's identity as the maritime hub of the region. This is a recognition for the shipyard's creditable achievements.
The awards also provide further boost to Dubai's future plans for strengthening its maritime base, including the launching of the Dubai Maritime City.
The honour for Mr. Taylor comes as the fruit for his committed work for over 23 years, following his arrival at the newly commissioned facility in 1984. He oversaw the yard's major expansions and helped it to become one of the major global players in ship-repair and conversion.
As the CEO of Drydocks World, he was instrumental in finalizing the purchase of Singapore's Pan United Marine and Batam and more recently the Singapore-based Labroy Group.
Mr. Nawal Saigal, Managing Director of Drydocks World- Dubai, received the Shipyard of the Year award.
The awards were selected by an independent panel of judges comprising of some of the leading names in shipping industry.

The Dubai unit of Drydocks World (DDW), Dubai World's leading maritime arm, added another feather to its cap when the prestigious Lloyd's List Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards chose it as the Shipyard of the Year.
