Fawaz Alhokair Group opens kika furniture store

Fawaz Alhokair Group announced the opening of the first kika showroom for furniture and home accessories in Riyadh, effectively marking the brand's debut in Saudi Arabia and the region.

The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Austrian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mr. Friedrich Stift, Mr. Fawaz Alhokair, president of Fawaz Alhokair Group, Dr. Herbert Koch, founder of kika, a select number of executive managers and employees of Fawaz Alhokair Group and kika Saudi Arabia as well as media representatives and VIP guests.

During the ceremony, Mr. Alhokair expressed his delight at the opening of the Riyadh showroom, which is the first fruit of a strategic partnership between Fawaz Alhokair group and kika. He also confirmed that, going forward, more kika stores will open in different cities and regions of Saudi Arabia, as well as in other Arab countries.

In his speech, the Austrian Ambassador mentioned that the partnership between the two companies contributes positively to the bilateral relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Austria. He also noted the rise in commercial trade between the two countries and the increasing influx of Saudi tourists to Austria. His Excellency finally expressed his best wishes for the partnership between Fawaz Alhokair Group and kika to be highly successful.

Dr. Herbert Koch, founder of kika, detailed the brand's unique experience and the success it has achieved in Europe, with its extensive range of furniture and home accessories. He also expressed his pleasure that kika Riyadh was the first store to be opened outside Europe and stressed that the partnership with Fawaz Alhokair Group offered him the chance to learn more about Arab culture in general, and Saudi culture in particular.

The kika showroom is located inside the newly developed Galleria Mall, north of Olaya Street in Riyadh, with a display area of 18,000 square meters. It offers a large collection of furniture and home accessories, and end-to-end solutions ranging from décor planning, to delivery and installation, all under one roof. kika Riyadh will be followed by three additional stores in Jeddah, Dhahran and Medina in 2008. The franchise will expand to ten stores in Saudi by the year 2010, in addition to more stores in the Arab world.
