The annual exhibition, which is now on its third year, is ongoing until December 14 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre in Seeb. The exhibition timings are from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and then from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., except on Friday when the exhibition will be open only in the evening. Admission to Women Expo 2007 is reserved for ladies and families only.
'Women Expo showcases everything important to women - from their looks and careers to their homes and families,' said C.J. Paul, general manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading organiser of trade and consumer shows in the sultanate. 'The exhibition gives all women an opportunity to check out a wide range of products and services that are specifically designed for their benefit.'
Paul revealed that more than 50 companies are participating in the exhibition to introduce their products and services directly to their target clients. The exhibitors include leading companies in Oman such as Suhail Bahwan Automobiles, Salman Stores, Al Oudh Palace, Oman Modern Electronics, Khimji's Bait Al Ahlam, Jotun Paints, The Body Shop, Al Diwaniya Perfumes, Capital Stores, Damas, and Adam's Sons Jewellery Co.
Many educational institutions are also taking part in the exhibition to present their range of educational programs for women. Among these are Majan College, Mazoon College, Muscat College, Al Zahra College for Women, Oman Tourism College, and the National Hospitality Institute. Several organisations including the Oman Women's Association at Seeb, the Omani Heritage Gallery, the Creative Learning Center, and the Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh also have stalls in the exhibition.
Women's health is a major focus of Women Expo 2007 with the participation of the Ministry of Health, Kaya Skin Clinic, Euro Arabian Specialist Dental Center, and Ibn Sina Pharmacy. Food and beverage firms also have a strong presence in the exhibition, and among those displaying their products are Premium Food Industries, Zainal Baqer Mohebi, Al Majd Flower Trading, National Tea Company, Al Nijris Trading, and Red Bull.
In addition to local companies, a good number of foreign companies are also showcasing their products in the exhibition. The international exhibitors come from countries like Bangladesh, Cyprus, India, Italy, Pakistan, Singapore, Syria, Thailand and the UAE.
Women Expo 2007 is officially supported by the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Thai Spa Association, and Hong Kong Jewellery and Jade Manufacturers Association. The co-sponsors are Kaya Skin Clinic, Oman Tourism College, Damas, Jotun Paints, Parachute, Pediasure, and Tapal Tea. The media partners of the event are Al Mar'a, Usrat Al Youm, Al Hasnaa, Oman Tribune and Al Watan as well as the Times of Oman and Al Shabiba. It is also supported by Swiss International Airlines as the official airline, Nissan as the official car, and Celebrate as the official decorator.
Women Expo 2007 presents products and services for women
Her Excellency Shokour Bint Mohammed Bin Salim Al Ghammari, Member of the State Council, has formally inaugurated Women Expo 2007, signaling the opening of the six-day international exhibition of women's products and services.
