Communication by Design Workshop at Dubai Men's College

For the first time in Dubai, the media experts from the BBC trained the students of Applied Communications in the art of presentation in three workshops organized by the TV Talk and the Dubai Men's College held between 19th and 21st of November at the DMC.
The students and staff from Dubai Men's College, Dubai Women's College and Sharjah Women's College benefited from these training sessions, which were facilitated by Nick Guthrie, Senior Producer of high profile BBC TV show -
Date Line London, Sue Lloyd-Roberts, the award winning BBC special correspondent, Bill Parkinson, transmission manager of BBC political show, Mustapha Karkouti, media consultant and head of corporate affairs, Higher Colleges of Technology, UAE.
Against the backdrop of the media explosions in the Middle East, these workshops provided an excellent opportunity to develop eloquent popular and well-trained Arab spokespersons willing to appear before the media. These workshops run under the patronage of H.E Sheikh Al Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan are seen as a step in the right direction. Many participants of these workshops appreciated the efforts and expressed their pleasure of having learnt critical media skills needed in today's information age.
"These workshops have given me a rare insight into how to present clearly, concisely and with an impact, said Ibrahim Ustadi, year 3 student of Applied Media at the Dubai Men's College.
On the concluding day of the workshops (22/11/07), Vice Chancellor of Higher Colleges of Technology, Dr Tayeb Kamali will be awarding certificates to the participants of these workshops.
