Second edition of CSR newsletter by Dubai Chamber released

After the success of the launch issue of the 'CSR Al Youm' or 'CSR Today' newsletter in October, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Centre for Responsible Business, formerly known as the Dubai Ethics Resource Centre (DERC), has published the second edition.
Available both in English and Arabic - hard copy and soft - the newsletter is packed with useful tools to promote positive organisational change, and provides short, sharp and interesting articles designed to appeal to a cross-section of business professionals and individuals.
Says HE Engineer Hamad Buamim, Director General of Dubai Chamber, "CSR Al Youm inspires positive change and deals with various topics that help raise awareness and support responsible business practices in the country. I am sure this second issue will inspire our members to share key learnings and opportunities for partnerships while other readers are bound to get a greater understanding of CSR, its importance and how it could add value to Dubai businesses."
This latest issue focusses on community engagement; whererby responsible businesses voluntarily support the communities they operate in. Community engagement covers various activities like donations, mentoring, secondment, fundraising, disaster relief, volunteering, special projects and more. "The benefits of community engagement are enormous. Such activities allow employees to gain new experiences and knowledge, develop professional skills like leadership and teamwork, find greater satisfaction in their work, drive innovation and improve business reputation, customer or employee loyalty and trust", says Dr Belaid Rettab, Director of the Centre for Responsible Business at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
"This newsletter issue is packed with useful tools and inspiring examples to assist companies in gaining and achieving more from their voluntary community activities," adds Dr Rettab.
