Health minister and ENDP chairman attend graduation of first Emiratisation programme in the healthcare sector

The UAE Health minister Hameed Kattami attended the graduation ceremony of the first Emiratisation programme in the healthcare sector, organized by the Emirates National Development Programme.
The graduates will work in WWHS's integrated local healthcare facilities that include hospitals, clinics and diagnostic and treatment centers.
H.E. the Minister Kattami said "The fact that a group of Emiratis pursued this type of training, to work in the healthcare sector, is a proof of the success of the diversification policy followed by ENDP".
H.E. added "The healthcare sector attracts every year thousands of workers in different positions, and we thank Welcare World Health Systems for responding to the initiative of ENDP, and their agreement to train and recruit this group of graduates, hoping that other medical institutions follow their lead, benefiting from the success of this pilot project".
His Excellency Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman of ENDP praised the perseverance of the trainees and addressed them by saying "Many of your colleagues look with care at your experience to see if they can follow your lead and enrol to this training program".
He added "Your success and devotion to your work will open the door to hundreds of job seeking emiraties to join this field, be it in public or private hospitals".
H.E. concluded "The fact of having a specialised healthcare city, Dubai Healthcare, is by itself an opportunity to many jobs in the healthcare sector, and we will work hard to find more training and recruitment opportunities in this field".
As for Azzah Al Sharhan, Director of ENDP, she said "Signing the Memorandum of Understanding with Welcare group was an adventure and a risky decision, out of the fear that the trainees will not accept to work in this sector, but the enthusiasm they showed during the six weeks of training proved to us their sincerity and willingness to start a career in this field".
Mr. Danie Meintjes, Director of Human Resources of WWHS welcomed the 14 graduates to the family of welcare group employees and reaffirmed the group's position to become the first healthcare institution from the private sector that is fully committed to provide education and career opportunities to young Emiraties.
The trainees were chosen following personal interviews with HR directors at Welcare group, before getting a combination of ENDP training and the Welcare Mentoring and Preceptor-ship Programme to ensure that the new recruits will be integrated into the WWHS culture.

About ENDPEmirates Nationals Development Programme was established in November 2005, under the directions of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
