$4.5m spa at Diplomat Radisson SAS opens

The Diplomat Spa, owned by National Hotels Company, a public Bahraini shareholding company and managed by Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, the first class brand of The Rezidor Hotel Group, has opened in Bahrain's capital Manama.

The $4.5m wellness centre, is the largest in Manama and is in the heart of the city.

The state-of-the-art spa adjacent to the existing 246-room and 121 suites five star The Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel & Residence includes two health clubs, a 280 metre lagoon pool, an exclusive ladies spa with 11 treatment rooms, a mixed spa with 6 treatment rooms, relaxation areas, two state of the art gymnasiums, sauna facilities, three outdoor and one indoor pool for ladies, massage beds, hydro baths, steam and Swiss showers, large fitness centre offering aerobics classes as well as tennis and squash courts.

'The Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel, Residence & Spa will help raise the standards of the Kingdom's wellness facilities as well as help enhance Bahrain as a destination for leisure and corporate travel,' said Rick Erdos, General Manager, The Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel, Residence & Spa.

'The spa offers traditional treatments as well as contemporary therapies combining the best of eastern and western techniques.'

The spa has a Thai ambience, with a team of 20 therapists trained at Sivalai Spa in Thailand. Sivalai Spa operates the spa at the Royal Bangkok Sports club owned by the Crown Property Bureau of Thailand.

The Diplomat Spa provides yearly, half-yearly and quarterly memberships for the health club, with a one month trial membership for those who want to experience it before committing to a long-term association including corporate wellness programmes. A range of fitness classes are also available including Yoga, Pilates, meditation, Tai Chi, body pump, body balance, body combat and spinning.
