Steady progress with Ajman sewerage project

Work on Ajman's new Dhs800m sewerage system is progressing on schedule, with the emirate's Al Jurf, Hamidiya, and new industrial areas now connected as well as part of Nuaimiya.
The effluent will undergo three stages of highly-refined treatment to produce high-quality waste water suitable for irrigation.
The first stage - screening of wastewater - is already completed and fully operational along with seven pumping stations. Work on the secondary biological treatment and is due to start early next year.
When fully completed towards the end of next year, the project will serve the whole of Ajman with capacity to handle 49,000 m3 effluent per day with a peak load of about 78,000 m3, connected to 75,000 homes and businesses on 12,500 plots of land.
Construction works follows the best international standards of quality in terms of materials and procedures to ensure that Ajman enjoys a well developed infrastructure that will enhance the quality of life in the emirate.
Ajman Sewerage (Pvt) Co Ltd has undertaken extensive communication with residents and property owners to ensure that connections are made on time and ensure that the project remains on schedule.
Under the project theme of 'Go green, Ajman', the treated water has the potential to transform large tracts of desert areas into grassed or arable land.
