Emirati woman tops in business - DBWC

Mrs. Raja Easa Al Gurg, President of the Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC) and managing director of the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group, emphasized the significance of communicating with regional as well as international institutions and organizations specializing in women's affairs.

She also spoke on the necessity of women to actively participate in international events and activities, so that common issues can be brought closer and the commonalities in different views can be discovered.

She acknowledged the potentials and abilities of Emirati woman, and what she can offer to her peers in the world of business. She emphasized the importance of their participation in decision making forums and platforms in all aspects. She noted that though she was speaking on Emirati women specifically, the subject concerned all women around the world in general.

Mrs. Raja Easa Al Gurg was speaking at the Arab International Women's Forum, which commenced its activities on 9th December at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and continues till Dec 11. The forum is titled "Powering the Future - Arab Business Women in a Modern Economy."

Mrs. Raja Easa Al Gurg spoke of the accomplishments of Emirati woman in various fields, including the economic sector. She said her achievements qualified her to take up a more comprehensive role at both the local and international levels, to communicate to businesswomen around the world the success story of the Emirati businesswoman.

She also stressed the Emirati businesswoman's role in addressing global concerns and challenges influencing women in general, in addition to the relevance of exchanging expertise, knowledge and the know-how to deal with these challenges.

Mrs. Al Gurg also commended the forum in bringing together businesswomen from around the world, and allowing for bridges of friendship and cooperation to form between the UAE and the rest of the world, and exposing the infinite investment potential of the UAE and other markets.

Mrs. Al Gurg commended the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE (MGPH), and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai (MGPH) and their brethren, Their Highnesses, Members of the UAE's Supreme Council of Rulers and their continuous efforts in using all resources to enable the Emirati woman to participate in taking forward the wheel of growth and development.

Mrs. Al Gurg concluded that the Emirati woman has made her way to an eminent position by high achievements in the past few years. This was the result of great efforts and dedication reinforced by the emphasis on self-development, adequate education, and the attainment of full rights.

About the Dubai Business Women Council
Its mission is to proactively encourage business and professional women in Dubai to participate in a variety of business segments in order to enhance the contribution, productivity and activity of business and professional women locally and internationally.
