The card has been designed to capture the rapidly growing high net worth audience in the UAE, by providing unique "experience" benefits and extensive global discounts to meet the diverse and international lifestyles of this client segment.

Speaking at the launch Colin Macdonald, ABN AMRO's Country Executive in the UAE, said:

"We developed the Platinum Card on the back of extensive research for this audience. We realise one card doesn't fit all as customers are looking for bespoke features to meet their needs. We asked ourselves, what do you do when you have achieved many of the professional and personal goals you've set your sights on? The answer that invariably came up was to provide incredible experiences and benefits that will give Cardmembers memories that will last a lifetime."

Mr Burhan Khan, ABN AMRO's Head of Consumer Segment, UAE added: "Unlike any card offering in this market today, ABN AMRO's Platinum Credit Card offers truly unforgettable experiences that Cardmembers have only dreamed of. From the adrenalin rush of flying lessons to race car driving, deep sea fishing to hot air balloon rides and cruising the Arabian sea in a catamaran, these are but a few of the experiences available". The Card also offers an extensive range of global travel, sport and wellness benefits and discounts. "It's simply the 'must have' Credit Card for any high income earner in the UAE," he continued.

The UAE's growing economy has seen a boom in recent years of high net worth individuals residing in the region. A significant number of these individuals form the primary target audience for ABN AMRO's Platinum Credit Card.

Each Cardmember's experiences start as soon as they receive their card with exclusive free benefits at two of the UAE's most prestigious golf courses and a 5 star fine dining invitation after their first purchase.

Also attending the launch, Denzil Lawson, General Manager, Middle East and Levant, MasterCard Worldwide said: "The launch of the ABN AMRO Platinum MasterCard card is in line with MasterCard's commitment to cater to the affluent consumer segment. Our customer-centric strategy enables us to bring value to our key stakeholders as a thoughtful and innovative business associate focused on helping them build, manage and enhance the profitability of their payments businesses. We look forward to working closely with ABN AMRO to provide knowledge and support to develop customized payment solutions that will meet the needs of consumers and their evolving lifestyles."

ABN AMRO made its foray into the credit card market in the UAE in 2000 and has since carved a niche in the industry as one of the top credit card issuers in the market.
