Senior executives from Romania attend strategic management workshops at UD

The workshop on 'Competitive Strategies for Competitive Organization - planning and implementing for total success' was for a group of senior executives from the public and private sector who are visiting Dubai from Romania.

This is the fifth group from Romania attending management development training programs at CMPD.

A total of 20 participants who are leaders in their organization, and are actively involved in the process of planning and implementing new strategies within their organization, wanted a good understanding of the concepts, processes and tools needed to plan and implement strategies which will enable them to position themselves as a competitive and agile organization in today's competitive global environment.

The case studies have Dubai as its central theme and its success story was used to showcase how Dubai reached to where it has today because of strategies that were planned and implemented by its visionary rulers and the lessons that can be learnt from the Dubai experience.

Dr. Omar Hefni, President of UD said "The Center for Management and Professional Development at the University is making great strides in bringing such overseas group to Dubai and providing them with relevant concepts, practical and hands on skills and sharing best management practices. This is good for the University of Dubai and good for Dubai too, which is known worldwide as the tourism destination and now rapidly gaining repute for being the hub for knowledge acquisition"

Usha Kaul Saraf, Manager, CMPD said, "The program has been designed in the format such that participants are busy attending management workshops in the morning and after lunch they have time to explore and enjoy the tourist spots in Dubai. A beautiful balance of knowledge acquisition and leisure packaged as a product.

The training program has a great element of participant interaction which facilitates learning. The facilitators of the workshops are a team of professional practitioners and university professors who possessed both the academic and the practical expertise, and were thus able to share their valuable experiences with the participants".
