USAID/SABEQ supports the participation of seven entities at Injaz Job Fair

- PRESS RELEASE
USAID, through the Sustainable Achievement for Business Expansion and Quality Program (SABEQ), supported the participation of seven entities at the 5th annual Injaz Job Fair entitled Link2Job City.
Each of the participants supported by USAID/SABEQ at the job fair are also key stakeholders and partners in achieving the program's main goals of enhanced productivity and the creation of jobs for Jordanians. The aforementioned occupy considerable booth space at the job fair displaying informational materials of their respective organizations, as well as current job openings within each entity.
The seven participants will also collect job seekers' resumes in order to match them with their constituents as potential employers. "Our members are regularly seeking to employ Jordanians with fresh talent, " noted Samar Kilani of the Architects/ Engineers Business Council. "Events such as this job fair are the perfect place to capture that fresh talent, and inform job seekers of our sector's needs in terms of qualifications, which then helps to bridge the gap between what students are learning and what the sector demands."
As part of USAID/SABEQ's support to activities such as Link2Job City, EFEF, one of its partners will be providing a training workshop to attendees of the fair about work place success associated with having positive attitudes, strong work ethics and capturing creativity.
The Link2Job City fair takes place December 12-13, 2007 at the Zara Expo Center from 10a.m. - 9 p.m. and is organized by Injaz. The job fair is expecting to attract 15000 Job Seekers. 105 companies are on display with 1929 job vacancies. The job fair will also give job seekers the opportunity to attend 20 side workshops ranging from 'How to write a CV' to 'How to land yourself a dream job'.
The USAID-funded Sustainable Achievement of Business Expansion and Quality Program (SABEQ) is a five year broad economic development initiative implemented by BearingPoint, Inc. and a sizeable team of international and Jordanian partner firms. By both supporting improvements in the business environment and providing assistance to expand innovation and productivity in Jordanian businesses, SABEQ's four components all support the common objective of building up the private sector—Jordan's companies, innovators and entrepreneurs—as a powerful engine of economic growth.
