Etisalat to support Awafi Festival in RAK as an official sponsor

The announcement was made at a press conference held in Ras Al Khaimah. Mr. Humaid Al Suwaidi, General Manager of Etisalat- Ras Al Khaimah region and Mr. Hamad Rahma Al Shamsi, Deputy Director of Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development and the General Coordinator of Awafi Festival attended the press conference.
The Awafi Festival has over the years become a popular spring festival that celebrates the emirate's ethnic and cultural heritages through performances, cultural displays and outdoor sports events held at the Awafi area of RAK, known for its cool environs and beautiful landscapes.
Humaid Sultan Al Suwaidi said: "At Etisalat we are keen on supporting all initiatives which contribute to the development of the economy and tourism in Ras Al Khaimah and in the UAE. This reflects our core strategy to support the tourism development in our country."
"We are proud of being a part of this event that has received great social recognition and participation due to the pleasant nature of Awafi region, which is considered as one of the most attractive tourist venues in the UAE. A wide range of entertainment activities during the festival has also made it very popular, " Al Suwaidi added.
Mr. Hamad Al Shamsi said: "I would like to thank Etisalat on behalf of myself & the Chairman and members of the organizing committee, for its continuous support of this festival. We appreciate their initiative which reflects their commitment to supporting the development of Ras Al Khaimah."
Awafi Festival is considered as one of the most important tourism and entertainment events as it includes several activities such as horse riding, heritage and entertainment activities, sports competitions among many other activities.
