The General Arab Insurance Federation held its executive council meeting in the Kingdom of Bahrain

The General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF) held its regular executive council meeting on 2nd December 2007 in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting focused on the preparation of the 27th General Arab Insurance Federation Conference taking place in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the patronage of His Highness The Prime Minister, Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, from 26th - 28th February 2008.

The meeting included the GAIF president Mr. Suleiman Al Hassan; and the Secretary General Mr.Abdul Khaliq R. Khalil. Mr.Ashraf Bseisu, Chairman of the Bahrain Insurance Association and GAIF board member represented the Kingdom of Bahrain in this matter.

The GAIF conference which is held every two years is expected to draw over 1,000 delegates across the Arab insurance industry, in addition to international insurance professionals. The Conference, which falls under the theme "Towards A More Integrated Arab Insurance Market", has the intention of further supporting the Arab insurance industry.

On this occasion, Mr. Ashraf Bseisu, BIA Chairman, said: "The GAIF 2008 conference will facilitate discussions about the various challenges facing the insurance industry in the Arab world. In parallel, industry professionals will provide solutions to these challenges and hence share in developing a solid platform for further growth."
