UD submitted two projects, supervised by Dr. Fawzi Kammoon, assistant professor in the IT faculty. Of the 40 projects submitted from different countries, the UD project, prepared by Mohammed Al Bloushy, Abdelraheem Al-Nimer, Fareed Mohammed, Sho'ayb Shaheen and Khaled Al Faris came first in the "Internet Web Services" category. In addition, in the "Applications" category, the project prepared by Ahmad Abdulla, Amer Rashed, Saeed Ahmad, Mohammed Al Breemy and Misha'al Al Eyali, came second.
All projects were evaluated by an expert committee of specialist professors from different universities. After deliberating with each group of students about their project, Dr. Hadif Al Thaheri, Director, UAE University, awarded certificates of appreciation to the winning projects, including both UD projects.
Dr. Mohammed Omar Hefni, president of UD, expressed his pride in the winning projects, and emphasized the positive role of UD in this accomplishment and many others. He praised the continuous efforts of UD academic and administrative staff, with special credit to Dean of IT faculty, Dr. Sa'eed Saleem, for supporting and encouraging UD students to excel and maintain their internationally acknowledged scientific caliber.
