RTA signs medical service provision agreement with Dubai Health Authority

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has signed a medical service provision agreement with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) under the framework of enhancing the strategic relation with the Government entities in Dubai.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the RTA by H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the RTA, and on behalf of DHA by H.E. Qadhi Saeed Al Muroshid, Director-General of DHA, in the presence of Abdul Mohsin Ibrahim, CEO of Strategy & Corporate Governance, & Ahmed Bahroozian, Director of Strategy & Corporate Performance Dep't from the RTA. The signing of the Agreement was also attended by Mohammad Juma, Acting Assistant Director General of Financial & Administrative Affairs, and Maisa Al Bustani, Head of Medical Fitness Center from the DHA. A number of RTA directors were also present at the time of signing the ceremony.

According to the agreement, RTA will direct its employees and workers to report to hospitals, medical centers, clinics and laboratories belonging to DHA for conducting medical and laboratory tests needed for issuance or renewal of residence visas in the UAE. RTA will cater for the expenses and fees of medical & lab tests. The Agreement is valid for one year subject to renewal or extension.

H.E. Mattar Al Tayer expressed his delight with the signing of this Agreement with DHA, aiming to provide lab test services to RTA employees, particularly during the next period, which is poised to witness employment of huge numbers of employees, namely inspectors & drivers, to accommodate the remarkable growth in Public Transport Bus Systems. He pointed out that DHA provides world-class preventative & remedial medical services as well as community emergency services, applying highly sophisticated medical techniques in providing medical services.

H.E. Qadhi Saeed Al Muroshid, Director-General of DHA, said that signing of this agreement reflects the integral relationship between various local entities in the emirate of Dubai.

In a press statement following the signing of the Agreement, Al Muroshid said that the huge potentials, advanced technologies and qualified cadres working at the DHA are viewed in general as a fitting opportunity, a point of attraction, and an ideal choice for many entities & private sector companies to avail these potentials and capitalize on them to serve their employees. He cited the assiduous efforts made by the DHA to upgrade the level & quality of medical services provided to customers through establishing strategic partnerships at the local, regional and international level to deliver advanced and top-quality medical services & programs that shall compare well with counterpart services of global medical entities.

The Director-General of DHA attributed the health boom enjoyed by the emirate during the last years to the great attention and direct support to this sector from HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and his brother HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance & Industry, and President of the DHA.

Al Muroshid stressed that DHA is proceeding ahead with the drive to boost and expedite growth & development witnessed by Health Welfare Sector in the UAE, aiming to induce sweeping transformation of Health Services concept, and provide top class medical care in parallel lines with the international standards that can place Dubai on the list of highly developed cities in this regard.
