On the occasion of the completion of the Professional Development Training Program of the teachers of Abdullah Bin Qais Al-Harithi School for Boys, held in collaboration with ChangeAgent for Arab Development and Education Reform (CADER), Saraya Aqaba honored the teachers of the school in a ceremony held on Wednesday 12th of December 2007 in Aqaba.

The Professional Development Training Program, which comes as part of Saraya Aqaba's adoption of Abdullah Bin Qais Al Harithi School for Boys, is executed by virtue of an agreement previously signed between Saraya Aqaba and CADER, whereby Saraya Aqaba provided a training program targeting the school teachers, and focusing on their professional development, and empowerment with the modern teaching methodologies and skills.

The training also comes in support of the Directorate of Education's efforts in the Governorate of Aqaba to enhance and improve the teaching standards, and in collaboration with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Local Community Directorate, being the supporting party of the 'school adoption program' in Aqaba. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Ali Nueimat; Director of Directorate of Education in Aqaba and Ms. Karimah Al-Dabet, Director of Local Community Directorate in ASEZA, where certificates were distributed to the teachers.

Mr. Shadi Ramzi Majali, General Manger of Saraya Aqaba said "Saraya Aqaba's involvement in supporting the educational process, through offering a training program specifically tailored for the school teachers according to their needs assessment, comes as a translation of our great enthusiasm to provide the school with whatever it needs, towards enhancing the overall performance of the school and the students. Today, we are proud at Saraya Aqaba to see the progress achieved after the completion of the training, as we are witnessing today a role model of am non-curricula educational administrative committee of teachers belonging to a well established educational institute, a success story of teachers who are equipped with knowledge and the necessary skills that would enable them to keep up with the modern developments, and reflect positively on the students and coming generations."

Engineer Amin Amin, General Manager of CADER highlighted the quality of the training programs provided by CADER, in the fields of professional development, and the advancement of the teachers proficiency and skills, through a process that starts with the needs assessment, where the actual needs of the school, teachers, students as well as the society at large are defined and addressed, and accordingly prepare the suitable programs that respond to and tackle theses needs, and optimize the gained benefits and allocation of resources. Engineer Amin also added that the collaboration with Saraya Aqaba and Local Community Directorate in ASEZA, under the supervision of the Ministry of Education represented by the Directorate of Education in Aqaba, comes as a manifestation of an ambitious plan adopted by all parties in an attempt to support the educational process to go in line with the economical developments witnessed in Aqaba.

Saraya Aqaba believes in honoring all efforts exerted towards the development of Abdullah Bin Qais Al Harithi School, setting it as a role model for public private partnership. Therefore, Saraya Aqaba's commitment towards the school did not only focus on the physical maintenance and renovation, but also exceeds it towards supporting the human resources that form the educational process. During the ceremony, Saraya Aqaba launched Saraya Aqaba Incentives Scheme Program, which aims at encouraging and reinforcing the sense of ownership and commitment towards the change process and long life development, by providing rewards to those who earn it.

Saraya Aqaba's support for the program stems from its social responsibility towards the local community in Aqaba, through the contribution of supporting the educational process in Abdullah Bin Qais Al Harithi School for boys. This training program comes as a complementation to the physical maintenance and renovation of the school provided by Saraya Aqaba at the beginning of the academic year, coupled with the distribution of school bags on all students. And also complements the agreement between Saraya Aqaba and CADER signed earlier this year, whereby Saraya Aqaba sponsored five teachers from the school to obtain a Higher Diploma in Information Technology and Communication.
