Arabian Business Awards recognise business excellence

The Arabian Business Achievement Awards 2007 has concluded with awards presented to a number of Middle East innovators, entrepeneurs and business leaders at a gala awards ceremony held in Abu Dhabi.
"The judges have invested a huge amount of time and energy into making the difficult choices from the many nominations, and we believe that their deliberations have resulted in a truly representative list of the finest talent in our region today," said ITP CEO Walid Akawi. "These are the people creating the remarkable transformation taking place in our region today and it is only right and proper that their achievements be recognised in the Arabian Business Achievement Awards."
The judging panel included Joseph Ghossoub, Anzas Kouzbari, Ahmad Julphar, Tawid Abdullah, Wadad El Suwayeh, His Excellency Mubarak bin Fahad, Walid Akawi and Karam Awad. Together the judges selected winners from a shortlist of nominations covering 15 award categories and two special awards: the Judges Award and the Editor's Choice award. The Judges Award was made to Dubai Cares, a special request from the Judging Panel to recognise the enormous impact of the charity drive.
The Editor's Choice Award, selected by the editors of Arabian Business Magazine, was made to Hydra Properties, recognising the company's impact on the region's business and media environments.
The Awards were made in the presence of His Excellency Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori.
"The Arabian Businesss Achievement Awards are all about success and recognising successs," said Akawi. "Our region is now being widely recognised as fast-growing, dynamic and capable of world-class entrepreneurialism and business innovation. These awards show our region's diversity and will to succeed has never been so vibrant."
