  • PRESS RELEASE

Clyde & Co has advised Dubai-headquartered Dodsal Resources in connection with the recently executed Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) between Dodsal's wholly-owned subsidiary Dodsal Hydrocarbons and Power (Tanzania), the Tanzanian Ministry of Energy and Minerals and Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation for exploration for oil and gas for the RUVU block in Tanzania.

Dubai based corporate partner Abhi Jalan, assisted by associates Mansi Kochar and Catherine Gill, led the Clyde & Co team advising on the transaction.

Dodsal Resources is a new thrust for the Dodsal Group in the energy sector for exploration of not only oil and gas but also mining of metals and minerals.

Rajen Kilachand, chairman and president and the owner of Dodsal Group, recently told media that Dodsal Resources is a key strategic business for his group and he expects it to equal or grow bigger than the engineering and construction business.

Clyde & Co also advised Dodsal on its entry into and structuring of operations in Tanzania and on the securing of mining concessions for prospecting minerals and metals over a 100 square kilometre area. A preliminary field survey of this area has shown traces of gold and other metals. However, a detailed exploratory study is under progress to determine the size of the reserves.
