Etisalat announces half a million Voice SMS sent during Eid holidays
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, December 24 - 2007 at 09:49
- PRESS RELEASE
Etisalat's Voice SMS, launched in time to enable Etisalat mobile customers to send voice greetings for Eid, has been a phenomenal success.
The most significant feature of this service is that since the message is recorded in the sender's own voice, there are no language restrictions as with text SMS. This is enabling the multicultural population of the UAE to reach out and connect with their friends and family in their own language.
There are no handset specifications or settings required for this service. To send a message, simply dial * (star) followed by the full Etisalat mobile number and press the call button.
Retrieval of the message for the first time is free of charge by calling *0* and the repeat and retrieval of old messages, by calling *1*, will be charged at normal local mobile call charges. Etisalat customers will be able to store 20 voice messages.
