In keeping with Dubai Sports City's history of recruiting sports professionals to oversee its commercial activities, the organization has appointed Australian national Darren King.

"Darren's background in sports marketing across a range of activities makes him well-placed to deliver on the ambitious goals of Dubai Sports City's new golf facility," said Thomas Rubi, General Manager of the new Els-designed golf course at Dubai Sports City.

King's employment has taken him across the full spectrum of popular Australian sports. He holds the distinction of having been both Commercial Sales Manager for the Brisbane Broncos, the most successful Rugby League team in Australia over the past 20 years - winning six premierships - and Sales and Marketing Manager of the Brisbane Bullets, representing the reigning title holders in Australia's National Basketball League.

Other successes for King include his time as Sales and Marketing Manager for Brookwater Golf Club - Australia's top-ranked public access golf course, designed by Greg Norman - and a stint as Promotions and Marketing Manager for the Australian Football League, Australia's premier spectator sport.
