Additionally, the festival will play a significant role in promoting new entertainment projects and establishing a vibrant entertainment industry in Dubai. A key highlight of the strategy is the involvement of the private sector that will eventually organize 70 per cent of all entertainment activities in DSF with the DSF Office taking the lead in planning, marketing, and promoting the events within the festival.
Saeed Al Nabouda, Chief Executive Officer of DSF, pointed out the need for a new strategy for DSF.
"Dubai is witnessing a scale of growth that has been matched by few nations in recent years and its dominating presence in the global tourism and commerce scene warrants a dynamic strategy for DSF in the coming years. The new strategy will cement Dubai's leading status in the global tourism industry and pave way for further growth in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. Our aim is to place Dubai Shopping Festival on par with other world festivals,"
he said.
While tracing the growth of DSF and its unstinted success over the years, Nabouda thanked the numerous sponsors of DSF and stressed on their contribution in making the festival a renowned name in the global festival industry. "A part of DSF's overwhelming success has to be attributed to its sponsors whose unfailing support since 1996 has seen the festival evolve into what it is today. The continuous cooperation between DSF and its sponsors aptly illustrates the successful relationship between the government and the private sector that has made DSF a landmark within Dubai's colossal development."
