- PRESS RELEASE
The Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI), the first specialised real estate institution in the region, announced another first with the launch of an industry specific resource centre.
The first of its kind in the region, the DREI Resource Centre will acquire, facilitate, deliver, and disseminate industry-centric information to serve the teaching and research needs of the institute's faculty, staff and students, as well as the industry.
Offering books, online resources, print and non-print journals, the newly established centre aims to provide users with comprehensive information through its suite of subscriptions to globally acclaimed electronic databases including Emerald Insight, the Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU), Business Source Premier, LexisNexis and the American Real Estate Society (ARES).
Dr. Mohamed Al Shehi, Managing Director, DREI said: "The real estate resource centre is an outcome of DREI's commitment to providing high quality educational, research and professional development solutions. It will serve as a vast storehouse of information, as well as a vehicle to enable academics and practitioners conduct relevant and timely research.
"The center will also contribute to enhancing and enriching research work in real estate research units and departments to meet the industry demand for authoritative references and resources, and consequently impact the industry's growth in the region."
Membership to the resource centre is also open to individual researchers, corporations, students, universities, governments, research institutions and consultants. Apart from borrowing privileges and access to online databases and journals, members will benefit from free wireless internet connectivity, book briefing seminars as well as printing and photocopying facilities.
The online databases will act as a tool, segmenting journal articles, reports and statistics, in addition to helping researchers locate and retrieve articles from magazines and journals through the Internet by author, keyword or title.
The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) is the world's foremost provider of country, industry and management analysis and the world's pre-eminent global research and advisory firm.
Emerald Insight has a wide collection of property and real estate periodicals on corporate real estate, facilities management, property investment, engineering, design and technology. It is the largest, most comprehensive collection of peer reviewed management journals and offers online support to librarians, students, faculty and researchers.
LexisNexis is a leading provider of comprehensive information and business solutions to professionals in a variety of areas — legal, risk management, corporate, government, law, accounting and academic. LexisNexis provides its customers with access to five billion searchable documents from more than 32,000 legal, news and business sources.
The American Real Estate Society (ARES) encourages research and promotes education in real estate through the exchange of information among universities, faculty and practicing professionals.
Launched to address the rapid growth of the real estate sector in the UAE and the region, DREI seeks to deliver comprehensive and world class facilities to real estate professionals by forging strategic partnerships with top-ranking international entities that facilitate research and education.
