Leading dairy customers of Tetra Pak Arabia, Luna, Nadec, Saudia and Nada recently supported the Ministry of Education in organizing daylong fun-filled educational events to mark this year's World School Milk Day.

Celebrating School Milk Day aims to raise the importance of milk consumption amongst school children.

More than five thousand children, from boys and girls schools, across Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam, participated in a range of edutainment activities aimed to raise awareness on the health benefits of milk.

"Health and education play a vital role in shaping our children to become leaders of tomorrow. Combining fun and learning to celebrate events like School Milk Day helps create excitement and enthusiasm amongst school children to be more actively involved when it comes to diet and leading a healthier lifestyle", remarked Salih-Al-Ansari, Directorate General for School Health (Boys).

The event saw a range of activities centered on the topic of healthy and nutritious milk. Various interactive games, a milk seminar, an educational play, songs, Q & As, bazaars and giveaways for the whole family ensured that the day was filled with education and entertainment.

"School Milk Day gives us a great opportunity for reiteration of the benefits of milk in general and long life packaged milk in particular. I hope that this will encourage children to drink more milk to promote health of students and upgrade their lifestyle", said Sulaiman-Al-Shehri, General Director of school health, Ministry of Education, Girls Education.

Free samples of milk protected in Tetra Pak cartons, educational booklets, stickers and flyers were given away to the visitors who enjoyed the efforts of the participating dairy companies in organizing the events.

"We are proud to work with the Ministry of Education and our customers to commemorate School Milk Day in Saudi Arabia. We are pleased to encourage healthy eating habits which help to understand the role quality dairy products play in our lives", said Amar Zahid, Managing Director, Tetra Pak Arabia.

The activity is part of Tetra Pak Arabia's ongoing drive to raise awareness about the health benefits of milk protected in Tetra Pak cartons. Earlier this year, Tetra Pak organized World Milk Day in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
