- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV), a member of TECOM Investments, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dubai Autism Center (DAC), offering free use of the TECOM Convention Centre as a venue for all DAC events in Dubai.
Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director, Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City, said: "Dubai Knowledge Village has consistently supported corporate social responsibility programmes, especially those related to human development. As a knowledge cluster, we seek involvement in activities that reflect our dedication to drive overall social development.
"Our association with Dubai Autism Centre reiterates our commitment to this social agenda while striving to create a vibrant learning community, and taking forward Dubai's objective to build a knowledge-based economy."
Mohammed Al Emadi, Director General and Board Member for Dubai Autism Center, praised the initiative and said: "The MoU validates Dubai Knowledge Village's keenness to support all our activities. It also reflects its sincere resolve as a leading institution to invest in activities that holistically benefit the entire community."
"While acknowledging this magnanimous gesture from the leading knowledge cluster, we also look forward to more such collaborations with public and private enterprises."
The Dubai Knowledge Village initiative aims to promote the integration of children with autism into the community through DAC's holistic approach to intervention and therapies.
In October, Dubai Knowledge Village expressed its corporate social responsibility agenda through its support of the "Dubai Cares Campaign", a project launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. The initiative recognized education as an effective long-term solution to alleviate poverty in developing countries.
In addition, the academic cluster has contributed significantly to major initiatives by non-profit organizations such as SGI Gulf in organizing an exhibition related to Building a Culture of Peace for Children of the World, endorsed by UNICEF (Gulf) and GEMS Education.
