  • PRESS RELEASE

Following the continuing growth in scale and complexity of Hyder Consulting Middle East's business, the award-winning engineering, environmental, planning and management consultancy has appointed Mario Pishiri as the new Area Director for its Dubai office.

"The Dubai office continues to be one of the Group's most dynamic and diverse offices and since his appointment in July as the Regional Operations Director, Mario has proved his capabilities in directing the company's regional business growth in a very short time. We are confident that with this promotion he will take the Group and Region forward in these demanding and ever more complex times," Rod Stewart, Regional Managing Director of Hyder Consulting Middle East said.

On his promotion, Mario commented: "We see opportunities for several new areas of activity in Dubai in the future, as well as consolidation and higher value work opportunities in our traditional property and land development sectors, and the potential to track major investors globally. These opportunities will help us to further strengthen our position in the Middle East market further and allow us to help in the development of the region as well."

The previous Area Director of Dubai office Nigel Hayward was promoted to Global Head of Project Management. Nigel will remain based in Dubai in this role, whilst his responsibilities will cover the whole Group. His role will involve leading the business in employing best practice for the management of Hyder Consulting's major projects.

Nigel's role will also involve championing and providing training for Project Management best practices, ensuring the company has appropriately experienced Project Managers leading its major projects, and auditing major projects on a continuous basis for compliance with the company's agreed processes. This role is highly significant to the Group's continuing success.

Other appointments included appointing Ian Mercer as Regional Director for Sales and Marketing, and will take responsibility for Regional Key Account Management processes, and a number of Hyder Consulting's regional support functions, including Communications, Marketing, Bid Support, and I.T.
