Dubai Men's College students heading for careers in computer networking attended the first 'Cisco Day' held event at the Cisco Systems Inc offices in Dubai Internet City.

The DMC students, who are working on their CCNP professional certification, gathered with counterparts, following the CCNA network associate track, from Dubai Women's College and American University in Dubai at the invitation of Mu'men Suliman, Area Academy Manager - GCC/Pakistan.

Hassan Khabbazeh, Chair of the IT Program at DMC stressed the significance of this industry led event for the students; "Our strong liaison with IT industry enable our students to be equipped with the knowledge and be ready to join the work force of UAE."

The event, aimed at bringing together Cisco Academies in Dubai with Cisco professionals and partners, was opened by Cisco's UAE General Manager, Mazen Jabri and Mr. Sam Alkharrat the Managing Director of GCC/Pakistan region under the theme "Cisco welcomes the leaders of the future technology."

Emirates Computers, one of Cisco's local partners, put the students in touch with some of the latest Cisco technology devices, including, the Tele Presence, and the students had the chance to tour Cisco's state-of-the-art Video Conferencing room and network facilities.

The Cisco Day events are designed to connect students with the ICT industry and give them the feel of the future workplace while providing a platform for sharing ideas - the Human Network @ Cisco - and learning about career opportunities for Cisco Academy graduates.
