- PRESS RELEASE
Datamatix announced its GCC Inflation Conference to be held on 6, February 2008 in Dubai, UAE.
Introducing the event, Mr. Ali Al Kamali, Managing Director of Datamatix Group said, "Inflation in the GCC is increasing at an alarming rate and there are many theories floating around as to the cause. The consequences of a sustained period of rising inflation could be disastrous for the GCC economies. In the UAE and Qatar, where inflation is the most marked, we are already witnessing a substantial increase in the cost of living, a notable dip in the purchasing power, and a rise in the overall cost of doing business."
He went on to say "Inflation is a subject that touches and affects every government, business, and individual in the region; we welcome all to join us and participate in this event in order to learn more about the problem and discuss viable solutions."
The one day conference will feature presentations and discussion sessions centered on the impact of inflation on GCC economies and business, its connection to the real estate market and the currency peg to the dollar, what can be done to control the rising prices of basic commodities, and what measures the government should take to deal with the problem.
