It is one of a series of workshops that aim to enhance students' career development for the academic year 2007/2008.
The workshop discussed a number of subjects that are essential for professional careers, such as the proper method of utilizing hiring agencies, a résumé's essential and personal content, best techniques for employment seekers while appearing for interviews and general guidelines for obtaining a job in the UAE. Mike Hynes, managing partner, Kershaw Leonard Human Resources, sketched a number of guidelines and suggestions for professional careers, once students graduate.
Students and faculty members were impressed by this workshop, which they deemed as necessary, especially for those who are about to graduate, since it gave them an opportunity to chose the best methods for matching jobs with skills.
Ms. Amina Al Marzak, UD Internship and Development Center, stated that the success of such workshops encouraged holding similar workshops that involve subjects concerning the students' professional careers to raise their professional awareness while fulfilling their academic and vocational responsibilities.
