The International Federation of Journalist said 68 media workers were killed in the Middle East in 2007, most of them in Iraq, making it the deadliest region in the world for journalists, reported AP. Somalia was next on the list with eight killed, followed by Pakistan with seven, Mexico and Sri Lanka each with six, and the Philippines with five. Worldwide, 134 journalists were killed last year, a slight decrease from 2006, when 177 deaths were reported.
